Ahmet Karaman was born in Beskoy which is a district of Koprubası, Trabzon in 1960. He was graduated from Haydarpasa Technical High School in 1978 and Queen Mary University of London, Department of Aeronautical Engineering in 1984.
Mr. Karaman started his career as an aircraft engineer at Turkish Airlines in 1985. He continued his career as Executive Vice President (Technical) at Tur European Airlines between 1989-1994 and Executive Vice President (Technical and Administrative Affairs) at Air Alfa Airlines between 1994-1998.
During the years 1998 through 2002, he became Deputy General Manager at Air Anatolia Airlines. Between 2002 and 2005, he served as General Manager at Fly Air and the first low cost domestic flights in Turkey were initiated within this period. He became Executive Vice President (Technical) at Onur Air between 2005 and 2013 and the first private maintenance and repair center was also established in Turkey during this period.
Mr.Karaman became General Manager at THY HABOM Inc. between 09.03.2013-30.05.2014 and managed the transition process of the MRO facilities which started operations in 2013 and also the merger process between THY HABOM Inc. and Turkish Technic Inc. in 2014. He has been serving as General Manager and Executive Board Member at Turkish Technic Inc. since 01.06.2014.
Mr.Karaman served as Chairman of the Board at Turkbine Technic Gas Turbines Maintenance and Repair Inc. which was one of the affiliates of Turkish Technic Inc. between 02.07.2014 - 07.12.2016. He has been serving as Chairman of the Board at Goodrich THY Technic Service Center Limited Company since 09.07.2014 which is also one of the affiliates of Turkish Technic Inc.
Mr.Karaman speaks English and married with one child.
